WS – About – May Challenge
I am using a personal challenge to build this about page and introduce you to Walkabout Solopreneur.
Walkabout Solopreneur is a curation of Stoicism, Minimalism, Side Hustle, Survivalism, Practicing Poverty, Veganism, Intermittent Fasting, and low cost tools to earn a full time income online.
Times are hard. And they are going to get harder.
Eating a vegan diet and practicing intermittent fasting are personal to me as a way to control diabetes. I’m not here to judge your eating decisions, but this is the route I have chosen.
The problem I have is one I used to see in body builders.
They used to eat 6 meals a day, low fat and low sugar, and tons of protein. About once a month, they would jones for sugar, tear open a box of Golden Grahams and devour it in one sitting.
I jones for starchy carbs on occasion and find myself eating a bucket of rice or 4 baked potatoes.
Result: blood sugar through the roof.
I have only 2 requirements for my May Challenge:
- Put my diabetes fasting program to the test.
- Create 5,000+ words per day for 6 blogs.
Fasting:
I have tried my intermittent fasting program many times only to give up before it kills my diabetes forever.
Maybe it never will, but I have to try.
My plan is simple. No food if my blood sugar is above 100.
Sometimes this will lead to a One Meal A Day plan if I gorge on rice and potatoes.
Sometimes it will mean a water fast for 36 to 48 hours.
To keep my blood sugar under control, I have to eat the right foods and exercise. Health problems have made exercise an issue for 2 months, but now has to be resurrected.
I want to do my back and stretching exercises twice a day, but I will not beat myself up during May. Getting the food and blood sugar right are enough of a challenge.
To do this, I will concentrate on eating cabbage, carrots, vegetable soup, and greens.
If I am still hungry, nut butters seem to satisfy my cravings more than anything else.
Content Creation:
I will create 5,000+ words per day of new content spread over 6 blogs:
https://practicingpoverty.com/
https://prettydarnhealthy.com/
https://walkaboutsolopreneur.com/
I have put my other domains on hold, and may never get back to them.
Like most bloggers, I have rushed in the past to monetize my posts before they were ready. May is where I will put out enough content to draw in readers.
While I want to publish Kindle ebooks as soon as possible, I need to establish my blogs which I will use to promote those books.
Once this base is met, I will learn and read as much as I can about internet marketing and the coming hard times and what we can do to protect ourselves.
